Soil lookups. The address you enter is sent to the US Census geocoder and, if that fails, to OpenStreetMap Nominatim, then the coordinates are sent to the USDA Soil Data Access service. We log the outcome of each lookup (success or which failure), the soil class, latency and the page it came from, together with a one-way hash of your connection that changes daily. We do not store the address itself unless you save a result.

Saved results. If you save a result, we store your name, email, phone (if given), the address, the soil result, what you told us about your quote, the consent sentence you accepted, and the time. It is kept in a database we control and is used only for the purpose stated in the consent sentence. Email us at the address in the footer to have it deleted.

Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages people arrive on. It sets a first-party cookie. We have Google’s consent defaults set to deny ad storage, ad personalisation and ad user data, and Google Signals is turned off, so it measures traffic and cannot build advertising or remarketing audiences from you. We do not run ad networks, remarketing pixels or third-party advertising trackers. If any of that changes, this page changes first.

Your soil lookup is not sent to analytics. The address you type and the result you get stay between your browser, the geocoder and the USDA service.
